Order Process
Do you like one of our designs?
If you've seen something you like from amongst the gallery photos, or one of the featured items and you would like to order one of your own, simply give us a call or drop us a line via email. We'll confirm the design specification with you and then start production of the piece with any customisations you have specified.
The lead time on most pieces is approximately 6 weeks, as we don't carry items in stock and each piece is custom made.
Would you prefer something made to measure?
If you have an idea for a piece that you would like to have made, we are happy to start the process with a free, no obligation consultation by telephone or Skype. We are happy to come and see you, but in order to manage our costs we can only offer personal visits at our discretion.
We will talk through all of the particulars of your commission, and put together a design brief. As a guide, the initial consultation takes around 30 minutes, but can take up to an hour for more complex designs. This covers:
- Style
- Functionality
- Guide dimensions
- Materials preference
- Budget
- Finish
If you do not have final thoughts on any of these points don't worry. From our point of view, the best designs that result in a piece that will delight you for years to come, are created when we take the time to explore and understand your requirements with you.
How to commission your piece
When we have a clear brief, we will work up some preliminary sketches. Check out the featured items on the website for an idea of what to expect. Depending on your brief we will provide you with options to choose from.
When you've had a chance to review the preliminary sketches and give us your feedback, we will begin work on a full design specification. It's only at this stage that we would ask for a deposit from you to contribute towards the design costs. This will be around 25% of the final price, and includes any re-working that is required to ensure the design specification is absolutely right for you (see terms and conditions for more details).
Upon completion of the full design specification and with your approval, we will produce the piece.
Please note that Noofangled retain full copyright on all designs produced. If you have your own design which you would like to have manufactured, let us know and we can ensure that all of the necessary paperwork is in place to protect your own copyright.
